Pertouli is one of the most beautiful places in Trikala prefecture. The beautiful forests and green fields on Koziakas mountain, along with the ski resort on the site Livadia constitute an idyllic place, ideal for summer and winter excursions.

The ski resort on the site Livadia, 1,200 m high, has a cableway and a ski lift whereas its runs are ideal for the skiers who lack experience.

The ski resort is between the villages of Elati (its old name was Tyrna)  and Pertouli.

Elati (situated in an altitude of 900 m) is one of the most developed tourists centers of the area and the visitor has plenty of choices.

Pertouli (1,100 m high) has been built amphitheatrically on the slopes of the mountain, and has traditional stone houses and high quality tourist accommodation.

To get to Pertouli one can leave Pili Trikalon and then pass by Elati (31 km away from the city of Trikala), the ski resort (9 km farther), and finally reach Pertouli (after another 9 km). One can also get there through Kalampaka (turning on the bridge named Mourgani).

Quite close to Pertouli there is Aspropotamos area, where one can do several alternative tourism activities, in a place covered with firs, beeches and oaks.

• Try the local products and specialties like ‘trahanas’ (sour dough balls soup), handmade pasta, dairy products, pies and meats.
• Visit Pertouli fields on the last weekend of May, experience the ‘meeting’ of Sarakatsani (nomadic shepherds of continental Greece), and have fun with dance, singing and lots of food.
• Visit the Holy Monastery of Timios Stavros in Doliana, which was built in the 18th century. This is a truly unique Christian monument with 13 domes.
• Visit one of the many stone bridges of the area, like the two-arched Michos bridge in Anthousa.

And for the young (and the young at heart):

• Try horse riding, archery, rafting, canoe – kayaking and other alternative tourism activities in the area.
• Go hiking on the European trail E4, on Koziakas mountain.
• Go to Tria Potamia (Three Rivers) and try mountain cycling in a fir-covered natural setting.
