Skopelos is the second biggest of the Sporades islands, and the greenest of all, with lush vegetation.

Skopelos is the ‘green’ island of the Sporades, wooded with pine trees that sometimes grow to the waters edge.The ancient name of Skopelos was Peparithos.

Hora (Skopelos town) is a traditional island town, of a typical architectural style, with beautiful cobblestone pavements. It has been declared a traditional settlement.

Infrastructure:

• There are ports in Hora (Skopelos town), Glossa and Agnondas. Agnondas is the most leeward of the three. 
  
• There are ferries and hydrofoils going to Volos (through Skiathos), Agios Konstantinos and Thessaloniki.

• Go swimming to Milia, the most popular beach of the island that is also extremely beautiful.
• Have fish in one of the taverns in Agnontas port.
• Take a walk to Ai Giannis church, on the northeast side of the island, and have a swim on the beach by the same name, if the weather is fine.
• Go on an excursion to Glossa, passing through the forest, and swim on the north secluded beaches named Perivoli and Hondrogiorgis.
  
• Have an evening swim on Limnonari (but be careful because the rocks at the edge of the water are slippery).
  
• Swim on the scenic beaches of Stafilos and Velanio.
• Taste ‘tiropita’ (cheese pie) at the bakery near the port (the bakery is open all day), visit the small church on the right side of the port and have a drink in one of the pubs.
• Visit Allonisos and the Sea park, by boat. If the water is fine choose a boat trip to the skerry named Psathoura.
